Day 58 .... Never judge a man until you have walked a thousand miles in his moccasins....Jawahula!

Lots of figures and milestones today.....I've walked 1000 miles and I have 1000 kms to get to Santiago i.e. 650 miles but kms sounds more impressive.  Almost 5000 hits on my blog, and nearly £1000 raised for Alzheimers on the Just Giving link, not bad going!  I think there must be nearly another £1000 in sponsorship from various places so THANKS to everybody who has donated so far, it's really appreciated for a cause close to my heart.
Had an easy walk today 15 miles to Moustey.  Met a couple walkers today.....going the opposite direction towards to Nantes.  I camped in a teepee tonight, brilliant - I love it.  Feeling like Chief McGarry.  I can hear an owl hooting and wind howling, but also traffic noise, can't seem to get away from traffic noise, it's a shame really.

  1. Well done now you're half way, Frank - I expect you've done the 'only another 7 weeks to go at this rate' calculation - except, you're getting fitter all the time! I still think you left it a bit late for starting this year, it's pretty rough in those southern French mountains in november and december! In any case I hope you fly through it and can visualise a 'no problem zone' from here to Compostela! It's a marvellous trek, and the motivation being for your parents and for Alzheimers' makes it doubly personal, a pilgrimage if ever there was one! Wishing you lots of luck, and if I'd known you were passing through Morlaix you'd have been welcome to stay with my family! :-) Bless you! Jx

  2. Thanks Jane, probably should have planned the French part of Camino a bit better, but I'm almost at Camino proper, and don't forget I'm Scottish - we're tough!!
