Day 33....met Liam and his Honda 90

A day of mixed fortunes...bad start this morning, could not find the camino -  took me one and an half hours to find, stopped for lunch at 1 o'clock and then lost the camino again, frustrating. However, then I met a great guy Liam who was also lost.  He is riding a Honda 90 around the world, you can check him out at wwwliam and c90. Really interesting....I'm really missing my bikes!  I got going again and made it to Brech and am camping on the loch side, built a great fire and cooked my dinner.  This is a beautiful spot.  Hot and sunny today which made a great change after the recent wet days.  Walked 22 miles today

Day 32....over 500 miles

Had a good night camping, stayed cosy and dry and walked through the forest to Lochrist.  The rain started to get really heavy about 2 in the afternoon so I needed to find somewhere to stay.  I got the wettest I have ever before since I started, even had to put my poncho on - looked like a drowned rat.  Found a great gite to stay in - only 18 euros a night, it's called 'Be at Home' , it is really comfortable and spotless, glad to be here.  Walked 18 miles today - that is over 500 miles in 32 days....Scotland the Brave!

Day 31 .... 'Don't stop walking'

Woke up this morning, determined to cover some decent distance, walked from farmhouse near Gourin and got to Le Faouet at 12.  Had a quick bite to eat and decided to take the main road to Quimperie, I am finding that the Camino route is not clear and seems to take me all over the place, I need to get on to a busier walking route. A lovely day for walking, bright and sunny.  I grabbed a pizza to eat and am now camped in a field on the edge of town. My feet are sore but I am just getting my head down and getting on with it - walked for 10 hours and done an easy 30 miles today. Thanks for all your messages of support, it really helps. Day 30....beginning to feel everywhere is closed...

I left Carhaix campsite about 8.30 this morning and found another Lidl stocked up with breakfast and some food for the day and followed what I thought was a path to Gourin - only after 5 miles of walking I realised I was walking in the wrong direction.  Eventually arrived in Gourin at 4.30 only to find there wasn't anywhere  to camp or stay. A girl in a tabac found me a room in a farm 5k away.  It was a hard walk at the end of my day, and it was raining heavily, but it was nice to get a shower and feel clean again.  However, after walking over 25 miles today, I feel I have not covered a lot of distance.  I'm hoping as I travel south, the camino will have more hostels,  finding hostels and campsites that are open is getting really difficult.

Day 29 - walked 33 miles today.

Today has been my longest walking day - left Morlaix at 8.30, found a good path, not many people were on it - only saw two other guys but they were on bicycles.  Found a campsite at Carhaix which is closed but there are other campers here as well.  It's a lovely sunny evening, not cold at all.  My legs feel really sore this evening but I have walked 33 miles today! Let's hope I will be able to move tomorrow....

Day 27/Day 28....been offered a Donkey!

Had good walk yesterday walked 18 miles, Morlaix was not the 10 miles south I was told, I think people tend to think in motorway distance, not the winding paths I'm taking. When I arrived in Morlaix it took me a couple of  hours walking round to find hostel. The hostel is really good after two nights of camping in the wind and the rain. Made my dinner of chorizo n bread and a great cup of tea. Went for walk in town now in a bar great music and good people.  Decided to have a break today and stay here another night, I had hoped my friend Sven from Germany might manage over to see him but no sign of him yet....This is a great place, the people are really friendly, buying me drinks and even an invite to a party.  A local man has just offered me his donkey to carry my rucksack to Santiago.  Would be fantastic but I can't see how I would manage to get it back to him when I finish, just too much hassle - so I probably won't take him up on it.  So all in all a great weekend so far, except I've lost my first toenail, thought you would like to know that!

Day 26 A tough day - even a dog attacked me.

A tough day. Walked from Moguecier to St Pol de Leon.  A vicious looking dog attacked me but I kept him off me with my staff and his owner managed to control him.  Wasn't much fun.  To add to that it has been raining non stop, not met anybody yet who speaks english and even with my French phrase book I not making much sense....I've managed another 16 miles and I am camped 10 miles north of Morlaix tonight.  I haven't met any other walkers on the Camino yet. Had a pint of the local beer, no Guinness here.  Like I said - tough day.
